The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Brian Mac Donald

Peter and I both attended Xavier College so many years ago, and it was, as it still is for students, a time when anything was possible. And like all students, our lives took us on different career paths, so I never saw or spoke to Peter for decades. Yet, he came to mind on a regular basis, whether in the acknowledgements at the end of C.B.C. programs he had produced, or in pieces he would have published in the Globe and Mail. It is unusual to have someone so distant brought to mind so often, and the recent publication of Peter's book provided an opportunuty to see much of his life's story. It was a remarkable one indeed. I extend my deepest condolences to his family. I am mindful of the fact that we as a country have lost someone who furthered national discussions of things that sould and must be important to us all.
