Euchre Comeback

Art and John were leading 9-0 in our rubber game to determine bragging rights.  Already John was bragging how  terrific him and Art were.  Comments about myself and my brother Bill(Wimpie) were insulting and funny but we told them that the game was not yet over.  Art was to my right and he was dealing to win the game but I was sitting next to him, I ordered him up and I won 4 points to make the score 9-4.  They still continued their confident insults but now it was my deal.  John passed and my brother said "pick it up".  Suddenly we got another 4 points!  Now the score was 9-8 and it was John's deal.  The trash-talking had now died down and we all passed following John's deal.  John then confidently picked up the card and within seconds he got EUCHRED which meant the final score was 10-9 for the "old-timers"!  I have never let John forget about this great comeback and we laugh everytime I bring it up.  Funny thing is this, John never brought it up!   Anyways it's a story that has never stopped being told by me.  I can still laugh about it and I will always remember the shocked looks on both Art's and John's faces!  John was a great friend with a great sense of humour.  He will be missed but luckily we have many great memories of him.
