First in Service, Value & Family

Our family welcomes you!

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Robert Johnston can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: I wish to express my deepest condolences and sympathy to the Johnston family. I have known and worked with Bob for about 35 years. We have much in common as my parents are from Northern Ireland and my great grandfather was a Belfast shipbuilder. In the mid 1980's I was laid off from Port Weller Dry Docks and Bob was kind enough to give me a job as a draughtsman to tide me over. As a Federal Marine Safety Inspector I have worked on numerous projects with Bob over the past 25 years. I will always remember his kindness and generosity.

Condolence: Bob, I will miss you. I enjoyed the projects that we had worked on together over the past 20 years, especially those involving the various jet boats, the Sunset Queen and Belle. And our many chats about local and marine history or the gardens that surrounded us.

Rest in peace my friend.
