First in Service, Value & Family

Our family welcomes you!

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Elvino Sauro can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Bruce & Diana Rogers
Condolence: Our heartfelt condolences to Linda and all of Elvino's family and many friends. Once classmates, years ago, we shared our love of music and the trumpet. Elvino was a dedicated musician, a remarkable instrumentalist and a horn player who maintained his embouchure over many decades. It was a love of swing that we shared as kids but a love of all great music was something Elvino shared with a host of fellow musicians. He went on to teach with an admirable dedication and his many students over the years will remember his generosity of spirit and his intense love of knowledge and every opportunity to share his skills and creativity. A gentle guy who cared. He will be sorely missed by many.

Condolence: As a former student of Elvino's (we called him Ed behind his back) at Ryerson back in the late '50s, I have always felt a great debt to him. He presented a 3-year course on the history of music to those of us enrolled in the Radio & Television Arts program; it was, far and away, the most intellectually stimulating and valuable (not to mention entertaining) academic material provided to us in those pre-university days at Ryerson. Thank you, Mr. Sauro, and Rest In Peace.

Condolence: As a former student of Ryerson's Radio & Television Arts course, and the film program in which Elvino played a great role, I want to express my sorrow at his passing to Linda Ross and their family.

Condolence: I was a student of Elvino's in the 80's (Ryerson film) and I have fond memories of his dry humour and utmost patience with me and my fellow students. He taught us to not only use the equipment but to also respect it, and I think of Elvino whenever I find myself coiling a cable (or garden hose, in my case) the 'correct' way that Elvino taught us. My condolences to his family.

Condolence: Elvino and I shared the opportunities of the NTCI music program from grades 9 through 13. I always respected his unique musical talent and valued his friendship. We had the opportunity to reconnect a few years ago to reminisce about our "music days" and I was very pleased to know of his subsequent acomplishments at Ryerson.
My condolences to his family.

Condolence: Linda is my youngest first cousin, and my wife Bobbie and I were so happy when she found her soul mate in Elvino almost half a century ago. He was always the consummate host (and chef) when we would visit from the States. And my dad, an architect, loved driving around Toronto with Elvino and his camera. My mom admired his killer tomatoes. We will greatly miss him and his many special talents.
