Life Story for Mary Elizabeth Ikonikov

IKONIKOV, Mary Elizabeth- It is with great sadness, that the family of Mary Elizabeth Ikonikov (née Wolstenholme) announces her passing, on December 23, 2015 at her home in Niagara-on-the-Lake at the age of 72. Mary Elizabeth was born on September 17, 1943 in La Tuque, Quebec. She married her late husband Nicholas Ikonikov, in Montreal, on May 14, 1966. Liz attended Havergal College in Toronto before moving to Montreal and worked at Canadian Bechtel Corp where she met "Nick". Elizabeth was pre deceased by her parents, Philip and Alice Edith Wolstenholme and her brother John Wolstenholme of Red Deer, Alberta.
She is survived by her son, Alexander Ikonikov and Grandchildren, Kai Ikonikov and Maia Ikonikov of Midhurst, Ontario, and her daughter Christine Ikonikov and Michael Balabuck and Grandchildren, Nahdia Balabuck and Stefan Balabuck of Valleyview, Alberta.; Also, her brother Jim Wolstenhome and wife June (née Short), nieces Tanya and Kim and nephew, Jonathan; her brother Len Wolstenholme and wife Rose (née Morrison), niece Moira and nephew Liam and Ivy Wolstenholme (née Fidler), and nieces Emily and Allana.
A special thank you to Dr Jimenez Fiedler and team of the The Juravinski Cancer Center and friends Rosamund and David Hennessey of NOTL, for their tremendous support to Liz in her last few months of life.
A celebration of life will be held at a date, yet to be determined.
