I was so sorry to hear of Vera's passing. My condolences to the entire family. Vera was such a special lady! She was so involved in supporting her church, her NOTL community and the NOTL Golf Club. She was a wonderful mother and wife which was so easy to see. Vera was so kind and friendly with a warm sense of humour. I have known Vera since I was 12 when I began working at the golf course. She joined the pro in teaching us how to play and 57 years later she still reminded me to "follow through". She supported me in my golf career and she was always encouraging me even during my many golf collapses. The one story that few know is this. Vera told me that she was hoping to still be living to see me win the men's golf championship. Well in 2011 it finally happened and Vera was right there smiling and congratulating me when I won. I remember acknowledging Vera in my short speech. You couldn't help but love her! I and so many others have been blessed to have known Vera. My prayers are with the family on the passing of this wonderful lady. I will miss her but I will try to "follow through" every time I play the game she loved.
