Life Story for Joseph "Joe" Grimstead
GRIMSTEAD, Joe - Peacefully on May 15, 2015 at Upper Canada Lodge at the age of 87. Husband of Barbara. Loving father of Sharon, Brenda (Rob) Haylor, John (Margaret) and Sue (Bob Curl). Proud grandfather of Jordan and Samantha Walker and Danielle Haylor (T.J. Lawrence). Predeceased by his daughter Jo-Ann (Will) Walker.
Joe was born and raised in Niagara-on-the-Lake and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 68 years and the Masonic Lodge No. 2 for 50 years.
Special thanks to Dr. Adams, the staff at Upper Canada Lodge and the staff at NOTL Hospital.
Cremation has taken place. Joe’s family will receive friends at Morgan Funeral Home, 415 Regent Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake on Wednesday, May 20 from 10-11 am. A service to celebrate Joe’s life will follow immediately in the chapel at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tender Wishes or the Alzheimer Society.
