Life Story for Elizabeth M. Nisbet

NISBET, M. Elizabeth (Libby) - Peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Upper Canada Lodge. Elizabeth was in her 98th year and a lifelong resident of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Beloved wife of the late John Alexander Nisbet (1972), dear mother of Judy and her husband Bob McLean, St. Catharines, and Stephen of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Loving grandmother of Michael McLean. Dear adopted mother to Susan & Pete Buitenhuis, Sondra & Bill Sasse and Jocelyne & Wayne Izumi. Fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by Sister Dorothy Furminger (1998), her husband George (1975) and their son Bill (1993). Elizabeth worked most of her adult life at the Post Office in Niagara-on-the-Lake where she was known as Libby. She retired in 1984.
The family will receive friends at MORGAN FUNERAL HOME, 415 Regent St., Niagara-on-the-Lake, on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held at the funeral home on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 3 p.m. Burial to follow in St. Mark’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Niagara-on-the-Lake. For those who wish, memorial donations to either Upper Canada Lodge Palliative Care or to the Royal Canadian Legion Elevator Fund, Niagara-on-the-Lake, would be appreciated by the family.
