CHAMBERS, Irene Ethel (nee Toth) - Peacefully at Upper Canada Lodge following a long and debilitating struggle with Alzheimer’s on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at the age of 73. Dearly loved daughter of the late Steve and Mary Toth. Adored wife of Donald for 44 years. Loving sister of Ernest (Carol), Louis and Darlene (Fernand) Baillargeon. Loved sister-in-law of Janet (Dennis) Armstrong and Ken (Caroline) Chambers, Bob (Carol) Morris and the late Patricia “Petie” Morris. Treasured Aunt of Devin (Emily) Toth, Marissa (John) Slykhuis, Bradley (Kim) Toth, Geneviève Baillargeon (J-Frédéric Jacques), Natalie Baillargeon, David Armstrong, Tim Armstrong, Christopher (Candice) Morris, Jonathan Morris, Mark (Amanda) Chambers, Kelly (Matt) Chambers-Robertson. Loving great Aunt to many dear great nieces and great nephews. Irene was a devoted teacher to many students across Canada and overseas during her 35-year teaching career. She was an avid gardener, wonderful homemaker and loyal friend to so many.
The family will receive friends at MORGAN FUNERAL HOME, 415 Regent St., on Friday from 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate Irene’s life will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 323 Simcoe St., Niagara-on-the-Lake, on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to either The Alzheimer’s Society or to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church.
