Life Story for Robert Jabez Lewis

Robert Jabez Lewis
LEWIS Robert Jabez
1934- 2016
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Lewis on November 4, 2016 in his 83rd year. Surrounded by his loving wife of 51 years, Charlotte, and his caring friends, Bob went to be with his Lord. Bob was born in Niagara Falls to Clara Speight Lewis and Jabez Lewis. Bob was predeceased by his parents, his brother Bill and sister, Betty. He will sorely missed by Charlotte, his nieces, Connie, Brenda, Debbie and Denise, along with his many friends. Throughout his life, Bob cared about and contributed to his community. He served as a Scout Master, a Director of United Way, and as a member of the Kiwanis Club. After years of working in finance in Canada, the USA, and South Africa, Bob retired as Director of Finance for the City of Niagara Falls. Bob’s zest for life was evident in love of world-wide travel that he and Charlotte shared for so many years, in his positive outlook and belief that “It’s a beautiful Life” and in his courageous struggle to combat the debilitating effects of Alzheimer’s Disease.
Bob was a gentle man of great integrity and strong religious values who cherished his wife, valued his multitude of friends, and supported causes he believed would make the world a better place. Our family extends special thanks to Bob’s caregivers both at home and at the Greater Niagara General Hospital. The nurses and doctors, CCAC, Palliative Care and the Alzheimer’s Society. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 10, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Morgan Funeral Home, 415 Regent Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, 41 Byron Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake at 2 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
