Life Story for Edward James "Ted" Warner

WARNER, Edward James (Ted) – After a lengthy journey through the haze of Alzheimers, Ted passed away on September 9, 2016 at the Meadows of Dorchester, surrounded by family at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Eleanor, for 65 years. Adored dad of Greg (Connie) Warner, Kevin (Arlene) Warner and Allison (Don) Sorley. Ted will be terribly missed by his grandchildren Trudi Warner, Kendra and Stacey Warner, Cameron and Heather Sorley, and great-granddaughter Lateesha Warner. He will be fondly remembered by siblings Harold Warner, Jack Warner, Janie Warner and Bob Warner. Predeceased by his sister Yvonne Comeau (2010). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ted was employed by General Motors for 42 years, beginning his career at McKinnons. As a life-long resident of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ted was passionate about his years as a volunteer firefighter, joining in 1962. He was instrumental in the construction of the King Street Fire Hall in 1964, retiring as District Chief in 1984. Ted and Eleanor loved to explore the world travelling to over 48 countries. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Meadows of Dorchester. Their professionalism, compassion and love made “Teddy’s” stay a little more comfortable. The family will receive friends at MORGAN FUNERAL HOME, 415 Regent Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel Wednesday at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow. In memory of Ted, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or Meadows of Dorchester.
