WIENS, Edeltraud – It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, with her family by her side, on Sunday July 10, 2016 at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 91. Loving mother of Angelika (Scot) Whitham, Margret Wiens and John (Jill) Wiens. Dear Omi of Robert (Amm) Zablocki, Chad (Severn) McMillan, Vanessa (David) Lester, Todd (Kristen) McMillan, Justin (Megan) Wiens, Jordan (Laura) Wiens, Jeniah Wiens; and Uhr Omi to 10 great-grandchildren. Survived by her brother Arno Schneider, sister Hannelore Otto and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother Dieter Schneider. Our mom emigrated from Germany in 1952; settled in Niagara-on-the-Lake and always felt blessed to be a Canadian.
The family will receive friends at MORGAN FUNERAL HOME, 415 Regent Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Niagara United Mennonite Church,1775 Niagara Stone Road, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery. In memory of Edeltraud, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
