Life Story for Maida Elizabeth Campbell (LeBaron)

Maida Elizabeth Campbell (LeBaron)
Campbell, Maida Elizabeth (nee LeBaron) A.R.C.T., A.R.C.C.O.
With deep love and admiration for a life well lived, Maida’s children, Allison, Leslie, Lorna, Grant, and Pegi, mourn their mother’s passing on April 21, 2016 in Streetsville, Ontario. Maida was the beloved wife of Donald Harvey Campbell (1927 – 2010).
Born in Three Rivers, Quebec, on November 6, 1931, to Jean and Karl LeBaron, Maida was one of five children (David, Stuart, Margery, and Mary Jane). Summers spent at the family cottage on Lake Memphremagog led her to Donald Campbell, whom she would marry in 1949. Eventually settling in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Don and Maida spent many years camping with the family and sailing on adventurous cruises to the Saguenay River, North Channel, and the Bahamas, while raising their active children. Maida spent countless hours volunteering for a plethora of organizations, including Grace United Church and Chateau Gardens Nursing Home, and was the first president of the Lincoln Gymnastics Club.
With a deep passion for music, Maida became an Associate of both the Royal Conservatory of Toronto and the Royal Canadian College of Organists, taught piano, was organist at many area churches and funeral homes, led choirs, and sang in the Niagara Symphony Chorus. She filled her home and family with music every day.
An eternal optimist, she set a shining example for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her dearly. Alzheimer’s Disease may have taken her life but it never took away her spirit, her love, nor the positive impact she had on those around her. She continues to be an inspiration to us all.
The family expresses its deep appreciation for the excellent care and support provided over the years from Leisure World Streetsville Care Community.
Maida’s funeral will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 11:00 am. at Morgan Funeral Home, 415 Regent St., Niagara-on-the-Lake, followed by a reception at Niagara-on-the-Lake Golf Club, 143 Front St. If desired, expressions of sympathy may be made by donation to the Alzheimer’s Society, CAMMAC (Canadian Amateur Musicians), or a charity of your choice.
