Life Story for Helen Riss
Helen Riss (nee: Krahn)
Born: November 23, 1923
On January 1st, 2016, peacefully at home, Helen passed away in her 93rd year. Helen is predeceased by her father, Peter Krahn; Mother, Katharina (nee: Peters); older brother, Peter (and sister-in-law, Hilda Rempel), and younger brother, Frank.
Helen will be sadly missed by husband, Georg; daughter, Susan; sister-in-law Rita Krahn, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Helen was born in in Hanley, Saskatchewan in 1923. Her parents moved the family to Niagara-on-the-Lake in November, 1940. Their family homestead contained land encompassing Mississauga and William Street.
Helen and Georg married in 1959 building their matrimonial home on the Krahn Family property on Mississauga Street, where Helen lived peacefully the remainder of her life.
