Life Story for Mary Rozitis

Mary Rozitis
ROZITIS -Mary (Moran)
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Mary (Moran) Rozitis peacefully at Upper Canada Lodge on February 6, 2015. Dear mother of Daina, Peter and John. Loving Grandmother of Kathryn, Erin (Mike), Lidija, Eva, and Jonathan. Great Grandmother of Adelaide and Finnegan. Predeceased by her husband Alfreds Rozitis (1978) her parents John and Margaret (Gibbons) Moran, and her brother John Moran.
Mary was born in Lancashire, England on March 23, 1920. She joined the land army during the war and was stationed at various farms throughout England. After the war, she trained to be a Registered Nurse and soon after came to Canada full of adventure. Her first home in Canada was at the Nurses’ Residence of the Niagara-on-the-Lake Hospital. Mom married our dad in 1956 and settled on a peach farm in Niagara-on-the-Lake. She loved her roses and cups of tea. Everyone who knew her remembers her pleasant smile, kindness and happy nature.
Mary suffered from dementia for many years and has been a well-loved and cared for resident of Upper Canada Lodge since 2004. The family appreciates the care and kindness mom received there. A family service has taken place at Morgan Funeral Home on February 10th. Interment followed at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Upper Canada Lodge, PO Box 1390, Niagara-on-the-Lake, L0S 1J0.
