Life Story for Mildred Agnes LeGrow

LeGrow, Mildred A.
It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Mildred on Sunday January 18, 2015. Wife to Wilfred, mom to Anne (Cooper) and Herbert, grandma to Laura Cooper (Brian Siconolfi), Jonathan Cooper (Kathyrn Frastacky), Danielle LeGrow and great-grandma to Rylie Evan Cooper.
Mildred, or Millie as she was affectionately known, was born and lived her life in Toronto. She married Wilfred Chesley LeGrow on September 11, 1954 and together they built a wonderful life that lasted almost 61 years.
Millie was one of a kind. Not only was she a devoted wife and mom but she was a Master Gardener, Canada Rose Judge, Flower Arranging Judge and a founding member of the Garden Club of Niagara. She loved her garden. Her passion was flower arranging and won many awards including a 2nd place for her miniature arrangement at the World Flower Show in 1993. She was also an avid learner, being featured in an article in the Toronto Star in 1971 as a mother who, with the blessing of her family, ventured back to school at the age of 40 and obtained her RT, CT, IAC and eventually her Bsc. It was a proud moment when her grandchildren attended her convocation at the University of Waterloo at the age of 65.
To honour Millie’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will follow in the spring. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Morgan Funeral Home, 415 Regent Street, Niagara-0n-the-Lake, P.O. Box 453, L0S 1J0.
In lieu of flowers, please plant a tree, shrub or perennial in your garden in her memory or if you wish, please donate to a charity of your choice. Memories, photos and condolences can be shared at www.morganfuneral.com
