Life Story for Richard John "John" Young

Richard John "John"  Young
YOUNG, Richard – John was born May 25, 1925 to Isabelle and John in Toronto. They moved to a farm north west of Toronto until he was 11 yrs old, following the death of his mother at age 9. They lived with an aunt (Maud) until 1941. John attended a one room school Toronto Gore SS#6, then Shirley St. Public School, Toronto Western Technical High School graduating with Draftsman Diploma. He was employed at Cansfield Electric prior to operating a resort Hospitality Inn with a partner in Haliburton for 7 years. With his partner, they were in the Home construction business building several in the Toronto area during the winter. John retired from the De Vilbiss CO in Barrie after 30 yrs (1990). He married Audrey (Jones) in 1950, they have 3 children Deborah, Larry and Stephen as well as 6 grandchildren Katie, Kieran, Gregory, Paul, Stephanie and Colleen. John has enjoyed many hobbies; woodworking, boat building, model ship building, Ham Radio. He has been a hunter for many years and avid outdoorsman.
Family and friends are welcome to gather for a celebration of Richard’s life which will be held at Morgan Funeral Home, 415 Regent St., Niagara-on-the-Lake at 3:00pm on Saturday, September 27th, 2014. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
