Life Story for Celia Shu-Ki Liu

Celia Shu-Ki Liu
LIU, Celia - It is with immeasurable sadness in our hearts that our family announces the passing of Celia Liu on July 10, 2014, in her 41st year after a short battle with cancer.
Celia is the adored daughter of Si Wai Lai, one-of-a-kind sister to Erica and Mark Lepp, and “Best Auntie in the Entire Universe” to her beloved nephew Ethan, and her most cherished nieces Brianna, Jada Mei and Tia.
Celia surrounded herself with a close group of friends here at home and in Europe, all of whom she considered her family as well. Celia embodied the epitome of unconditional love and friendship and in doing so; she received the same in return. Celia touched the hearts of all those who had the honour of stepping into the sunshine of her attention, if even for a moment.
Celia was born in Hong Kong, has lived in San Francisco, Ghana, and Virginia before settling in Niagara. Celia attended Brock University. In 2001 Celia moved to Lausanne, Switzerland to attend École Hôtelière de Lausanne, spending five years in Europe -which were the happiest of her life.
Her foremost passion in life was travel and experiencing all that the world had to offer. Prior to her passing, Celia was also the utmost dedicated and hardworking proprietor of the Oban Inn, Spa & Restaurant in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Well known and well respected in the community, Celia always strove to make the family business the symbol of success.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Morgan Funeral Home, 415 Regent Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake on Sunday, July 13, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A celebration of Celia’s life will be held at Queen’s Landing Hotel, 155 Byron St, Niagara-on-the-Lake on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 11 o’clock. Private interment to follow.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that friends consider donating to a cause close to Celia’s heart at gilliansplace.akaraisin.com/personalpages/celialiu.
