Eldred, John David - Passed away peacefully at age of 64 at Chateau Gardens on May 22, 2013 surrounded by his loving family and the caring staff. He was the son of the late Del and Jack Eldred, beloved brother of Susan (Walter) Weaver and Joseph (Lori), a devoted cousin of Maureen Honsberger and a cherished nephew of Doris Hamilton, Roberta White and Marjorie White from Bridgetown NS. He was a special uncle to Stephanie (Troy), Matthew (Susan), Jackie (Wayne) Weaver and Laura Eldred. He attended OCA and was a graduate of Brock University. Johnnie was a man of kindness, gentleness and outward peace who captured the beauty of life around him in his art work. He was also a talented musician and comedian at family parties. His courage dealing with his illness was inspirational. The family sincerely thanks all the dedicated staff of Chateau Gardens for their exceptional care, especially Sylvia, his best friend and Drinka N.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul, NOTL, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013. The family will welcome friends at the church after 10:00 am and a reception will follow the service in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the ALS or Parkinson’s Society would be appreciated.
