VanderPerk, Gerrie (nee VanEgmond)

Gerrie VanderPerk passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at the Niagara on the Lake Hospital on Saturday, June 2, 2012, in her 86th year. Beloved wife of 61 years to Gys, she will be sadly missed. Loving mother to Bert (Rose) VanderPerk, John (Liz) VanderPerk, Pete (Margaret) VanderPerk, Lydia (Bill) Postma and Nelly (Fred) Lof. Cherished Oma of 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Gerrie was a long time faithful member of Covenant Christian Reformed Church where she gave of herself in many ways by serving others through the nursery at Coffee Break and through Friendship Club, which was very dear to her. As well, she spent countless hours crocheting for the Warehouse of Hope. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Adams and the staff at the Niagara on the Lake Hospital for their kindness and compassion.
Visitation will be held at Covenant Christian Reformed Church at 278 Parnell Road, St. Catharines on Tuesday, June 5, from 2 - 4 pm and from 7 - 9 pm. The funeral service will take place at Covenant CRC on Wednesday, June 6, at 10:30am. Interment to follow at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Beacon Christian School or a charity of your choice.
