JOSTMAN, Ella Maria – Passed away peacefully on Monday May 9, 2011 at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 92. Dear mother of Alan (Susan). Beloved Godmother of Leena Rosenberg . Ella will be sadly missed by her numerous relatives and friends in Niagara, Toronto and Estonia. Along with many others, Ella left Estonia after World War II and made her way to Canada, finally settling in Niagara-on-the-Lake and making her lifelong home there. She was actively involved with the Boy Scouts (Estonian) for many years and enjoyed the time that she spent with “her boys”. She was an avid weaver, displaying her beautiful woven materials at craft shows in both Niagara and Toronto. She also spent many hours in her flower and vegetable gardens and loved to swim, especially in Lake Ontario. Later in life, Ella was able to fulfill her lifelong dream of travelling to many exotic locations throughout the world.
Ella’s family will receive friends at the MORGAN FUNERAL HOME 415 Regent Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake on Thursday, May 12th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate her life will be held at the funeral home on Friday May 13th at 1 o’clock. Interment will follow at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery.
