ELLIOTT, John William – Passed away peacefully on Thursday March 31, 2011 at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Hospital at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Joan (nee Cooper) for 61 years. Dear father of Digby (Elaine), David (Elise) and Jennifer (Colin). Cherished grandfather of Rachel, Pepe, Johnny, Madeleine, Gisele, Paulo, Jacques, Molly, Tana, Lara and Elyse. Great-grandfather of 11. Brother of Hope Bradley, Heather Sherlock, Barbara Lake and Donald Elliott. John was an active member and Elder of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Niagara-on-the-Lake for many years. The family would like to thank the staff of the Niagara-on-the-Lake Hospital for the respectful and gentle care shown to John during his stay.

Cremation has taken place. John’s family will receive friends at MORGAN FUNERAL HOME 415 Regent Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate John’s life will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Restoration Fund.
