ELLIOTT, Leila- Age 95, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2010 at Our Lady of Peace Long Term Care Facility in Lewiston, NY. Born and raised in St. Catharines, ON, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Edith Lowther. Leila married Harry Brownlee Elliott on July 1, 1939 and they moved to Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON, later relocating to Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Elliott predeceased her on August 17, 1982. Leila was a homemaker who was devoted to her family and friends, and enjoyed being with them most of all. Leila is survived by her three children, Carol Waters of Delray Beach, Fla., Sheila (Edmund) Ryczek of Niagara Falls, NY and Harry Glynn (Kathleen) Elliott of Decathur, Al.; Five grandchildren, Paula Jaddaoui, Brian (Nelly) Elliott, Stacia (Frederick) Kooney, Jonathan (Ieshia) Ryczek and Sarah Ryczek (Brian Welch) and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother William Lowther and grandson Timothy Waters.
Friends may call from 7-9 pm, April 22, 2010 at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Chapel of the Morgan Funeral Homes, 415 Regent Street. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, April 23, 2010 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
